your first solo of the gig...........dude, t'was smooth as a baby's bottom, your licks have gotten so fluid and easy...you're a weaver in the medodic and harmonic context!

Very hip Pete. I like-ee. I found that you moved from a calm space to a much more frenetic space quickly and back and forth w/ ease...
all over the horn too. Even threw in a brief shake...

...what I heard was very helpful. It was a definite "heads up" for me - not taking the time, before I start to play, to think about what tone and color I would like to produce. It's a good mind set!
Thanks!

...thanks for sending these 3 clips. They were all very nice, as usual. Unlike other soloists "in your idiom", you don't get lost in the upper register, then have to resort to filling up your solo with "chicken feed" notes. You sound solid up there, as you do elsewhere in the solos. Right on. It's a pleasure to witness sonic progress.....the evoluton of one's sound. Solid Brass. ~Jim

Very sweet & smoothe, yet tight. I liked how your notes and the piano's several times totally locked-in, creating gorgeous composite chords and intervals. Super-excellent! That's a very satisfying recording...Nice.

I especially liked your style during "Tell it like it is". You cover the spectrum, w/ a broad range of chops, but one thing for sure......................Dude, you've got CHOPS!

Very nice...sonorous, creamy chords and "broad brush strokes" of sound. Really cool...I liked it....shades of Shew.

What a huge difference in sound! The sound of the Monette is just so much "thicker" than the Bach C. That was a really good example of the differences between Monette and Bach. Although your playing on both pieces was great, the sound quality was like night and day. I did like the dynamic contrasts you used in the Rachmaninoff. It came across nicely, even on my computer speakers.

The latest Magnificat clip worked. So surreal to hear solo trumpet and chorus. Bravo again. Those intervals were challenging I bet. Nothing like that Monette high register sound. So mellow and yet full of overtones at the same time

Aloha Pete. Loved your solo-reminded me of Dave Douglas and John McNeil. I felt a strong sense of total improvisation and transcendence of the chord changes. You built well on your initial statement. Some pretty intricate passages with a strong sense of the beat. Great interaction with the rhythm section.
